Questions
What is llms.txt?
A proposed Markdown file at /llms.txt (llmstxt.org) that gives language models a short map of your site: a title, a one-line summary and lists of key pages with notes.
Does llms.txt help me get cited by ChatGPT or Google?
There’s no public evidence that it does. Google representatives have said Google Search doesn’t use it, and AI search crawlers still read your normal pages. Treat it as a cheap courtesy, not a ranking lever.
What does the checker validate?
That the file exists and isn’t an HTML 404 page, starts with an H1, has a summary blockquote, groups links under H2 sections in the `- [title](url): note` format, uses absolute URLs, stays small, and whether llms-full.txt exists.
Do you store what I check?
No. It fetches the public /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt once and refuses private network addresses.
