Free AI visibility checker

Do AI assistants recommend you?

Paste one page. We suggest the questions your buyers ask, ask two AI assistants live, check whether search and AI crawlers can see the page, and give you a shareable report. About a minute, no sign-in.

What you get

  • Mentioned or not: whether each assistant named your brand for each buyer question.
  • Cited or not: whether your own site was linked as a source, and which pages were cited instead.
  • Who wins instead: the competitors recommended for the same questions, counted in code rather than by the model.
  • Crawler and indexing checks: noindex, canonical, robots.txt rules for GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Claude, sitemap and server-rendered text. Also available as a standalone AI crawler checker.
  • A shareable report link you can send to a teammate.

How to read the results honestly

AI answers vary between runs, models and markets, so a single answer is a sample, not a ranking. Treat “not mentioned” as a lead to investigate, not a score. When you change a page, re-ask the same questions later and compare. How Citelane measures explains the details.

Questions

How does the free AI visibility checker work?

You paste one page. Citelane reads it, suggests the questions a buyer would ask, and asks two AI assistants (Perplexity Sonar and Gemini 2.5 Flash with web search) live through their official APIs. It then shows whether your brand was mentioned, whether your site was cited as a source, which competitors and pages were cited instead, and whether search and AI crawlers can read the page.

Is it the same as what people see in the ChatGPT app?

No. Answers come from official model APIs, which can differ from what users see inside consumer apps, and they vary from run to run. The report labels every answer with its source and model, and treats a single run as an observation, not a verdict.

Why is my brand mentioned but not cited?

The assistant knew your name from other sources but didn’t pick your page as the best source for that question. Usually the page lacks a direct, specific answer, or an AI search crawler can’t read it.

Is it really free?

Yes. The diagnosis is free with a daily limit per visitor, needs no sign-in, and the report link can be shared. A signed-in workspace adds GPT-5 mini and Claude, repeated answers with uncertainty ranges, fact-checked drafts and a live publication check, also free during the beta.

What should I do with the results?

Fix any crawler or indexing blockers first, then compare your page with the pages that were cited and add the specific answer they give that you don’t. Our guide on getting recommended by ChatGPT walks through it.
